July 27
pages 15 & 16
THREE days'  work !!!!!!

Page 15 is a watercolor paper index card from joggles.com with an old book file card attached to flip up.
The file card had a print of a spiral on it. The blue piece opens for a part of the spiral. I made a spiral - which gives me two, and they are glued on the front, with gold dots for fun.
Adding dots, or dashes to an already finished page provides both details and some time to get my art brain ready to start a new page...or ponder how to fix something "finished ".

The top is my least favorite part
although with the bottom section it looks quite nice. The colors are highlighters.

This is the inside - my favorite part. It took several steps to get to where I was happy with it. the layers cannot be seen clearly

HOLY HOT JULY ....we are 90 at 1:00pm !!!!!

Working on Art Journal 2109 Vol II inside
I have pages 5-14 done....
am concentrating on pp13-14 - it's a pocket with 3 tags !!! Lots of space for art. it evolved into both summer EKG and Moon landing related themes, with a favorite stencil

Page 14, has a window through which the paper can be seen, and in photo 2 it has its tag.

photo 2 page 13 with tag, and back of p 14
two of three places have tags with circles from the pad of  Dina Wakley's Collage Collective paper
I added a blue piece of paper to one tag so it would be taller.. "Moon Landing Anniversary"on the back.

July 15....  I am creating a second volume of Art Journal 2019. The disc-type binding has advantages, and disadvantages.
cover in black and white, a smudge of color around the edges

p 5
my favorite leaf stencil... in pen, surrounded by Tangle "higgins "

page 8 is one of my go-to projects if stuck.Cut up a postcard, thin strips, and create a weaving. Great color and texture with minimal effort.
Page 3, first a collection of stencils and masks, 3 colors of spray,  then add some tangling .

GARDEN WORK
I did some photos for facebook...
this is the boundary garden,,,

This is near the driveway, where once a lovely spruce grew - too tall, into the wires !!!
A small section where houseplants thrive for the summer in
Garden #6, oldest garden (began c. 1980).

This will most likely be the last page of circles and straight lines, ( joggles disc bound pages)
I made a lovely spiral in my garden in a bare place... and that started it.

Then I used metallic gel pens for the black background, made bigger with a portion of a page, hinged with scraps of ribbon used earlier.

This is the spiral in the boundary garden

Rocks that  I've collected on walks - beach and roads. The winter caused a lot of brown on the rhododendrons , so there's a space there. The incline of the area plus the prior life of pines makes it a tough place for plants. So am adorning the area with things.

birdbath, hanging plant, small frog on an orb

This has a sign post I got with gift money from colleagues upon retirement, a stack of plastic pots a wind chime hanging, and a cello playing frog. The garden /artist shed shows on the right.
