Summer Solstice
June 21st was a lovely New England day. I worked on pp 113-14 in Art Journal 2019
The tag is made using Dina Wakley's Collage Collective page.
The ribbon is from my stash.

The flower is of scraps glued onto a water color index card; it represents the beautiful peonies in my garden.

      Here are the two together.

Page 114 has a tag made of scrapbooking paper, with scraps  woven into it.The right side is a tangle pattern

which also is under the tag.
I have text planned for the this page, somehow to capture all the fabulous complexities of the season.

June's rainy days.....

and gardening days

Celebrating spring days with a stamp

INSPIRATION........exists, but has to find you working...
I added space (a page) with an old library card taped on the watercolor page. The dark frame is from a 2019 calendar page from Dawn...the quote especially accurate for me. I do find my best ideas come while I'm working.

I've been using both the grouping of four dots and the weaving tangles as backgrounds.

June 2, 2019
It's been almost a month since I posted any pictures - a wet, cool month. We haven't set up the pool yet!!
I have been working on Art Journal 2019, but my camera pooped out, so I've been scanning individual pages.

p. 95 began with a card

and changed as the card flipped up where I added the umbrella and some pictures of my garden

p. 97

page 97 is for the many rainy days - one of my favored motifs, not really a yin-yang, but nested raindrops looking like paisley shapes
p.100
I used a stencil for the squares on a watercolor shipping tag, then cut squares to fit from a piece of scrap booking paper. I enhanced some of the outlines and added dots in various patterns with a green jelly roll pen
The bleeding hearts in my garden were looking so nice (they thrive on the cool wet weather), I decided to collage  representations, one on white the other on black...

blood root is looking nice- cool temperatures help, winds not so much. It has spread - tribute to Ruth MacDonald's quilt at the New England Quilt Museum, Lowell.

blue adirondack child's chair
, black ceramic pot, and black violas...Buck Wheat in the back ground
Got caught in a Tangling sequence...the circular, black and white portion on the right is an ATC I did a while ago. I punched the circle out  of a scrap of paper, a bit smaller than the page and put the card under the circle.
detail of tangle.....

I used a variation on this page, kind of working out the pattern

I traced an old leaf stencil on the right, only shading with pencil. The dots are on the following, larger page.

Art Journal 2019

I created a page for the old pine that stands in the forest, despite missing a large portion of its trunk...
the tag slide in so just the green is seen.

I started caring about this pine while walking Monty (2000 -2008), our handsome blue Great Dane. I wrote free verse and made a hand-sized journal
I have photos----
they are stitched together as an accordion and have text hand printed on each

page 1

this shows the rupture of its trunk as does the next page...
